About the Role:

Capita is hiring a Senior Software Consultant for its WFM V4 team. This is a hybrid role requiring strong expertise in both legacy and modern technologies. The role involves both development and troubleshooting responsibilities in Visual Basic 6.0, .NET MVC, and SQL Server environments. The position is client-facing, requiring regular coordination with onshore teams to resolve issues in test and production environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and troubleshoot applications using Visual Basic 6.0 and .NET MVC.
  • Work on SQL-based systems and create/modify Crystal Reports.
  • Participate in modernization/migration projects from VB to .NET.
  • Interface with onshore business teams to understand issues and provide solutions.
  • Manage and resolve issues occurring in testing or production environments.

Preferred Traits:

  • Ability to work independently in a client-facing capacity.
  • Strong communication and coordination skills for interacting with cross-functional teams.

Key Technical Skills:

.Net MVC, SQL Server, Visual Basic

Requirements:

  • Experience with Visual Basic and .NET application development
  • Hands-on expertise in SQL Server and Crystal Reports
  • Prior experience in VB to .NET migration projects (preferred)
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex issues in test/production
  • Effective communication and coordination with onshore teams
